Biography

Mr. Makoto Kato is taking the role of Deputy Chief Business Transformation Officer at Dai-ichi Life Insurance Myanmar Ltd., where he leads in operations, IT, Business Transformation Task Force, Digital Transformation and elevating customer experiences. His strategic expertise in shaping digital strategy formulation and innovation of system development has been a driving force behind the company’s unparalleled success.

With a career spanning over 19 years in the insurance industry, Mr. Makoto has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and expertise in business operations. A cornerstone of Dai-ichi Life Insurance Ltd since 2005, Mr. Makoto played an instrumental role as a founding member in establishing the company’s presence in Yangon. He oversees critical departments including operations, IT, legal and compliance, and government relations, guiding the company toward continual innovation and excellence.

Mr. Makoto holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Hokkaido University in Japan. In addition, he has obtained Information Technology Strategist qualifications from the renowned Information-Technology Promotion Agency in Japan.
