Biography
As Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Looi is responsible for delivering a world-class customer centric operations platform for Dai-ichi Life’s business in Myanmar. His international experience will bring about his leadership to operations excellence in various areas including customer service, claims, policy service, underwriting and policy issuance, technology and digitalization.
Prior to joining Dai-ichi Life Insurance Myanmar Ltd., Mr. Looi spent over 30 years in life insurance and reinsurance organizations in Cambodia, China and Singapore where he held a wide range of roles in executive management, strategic planning, underwriting, claims, sales, agency, internal audit, risk management, reinsurance, project management and customer relationship management.
Mr. Looi holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and an EMBA from Arizona State University from the United States. A Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, among other designations he has earned are Chartered Insurer (UK), Fellow Academy of Life Underwriting, Chartered Financial Consultant, Chartered Financial Analyst and ACCA.
